Moderna Slashing 10% of Staff in 2025 Amid Vaccine Sales Slowdown

What’s Happening at Moderna?
Moderna is planning to eliminate approximately 10% of its workforce, or more than 800 positions, as vaccine sales continue to cool.
Last September, the biotechnology company announced that it wanted to reduce its annual operating expenses by $1.5 billion by 2027 — largely by trimming research spending.
Despite efforts to avoid job cuts, CEO Stéphane Bancel told staff in a recent memo that a workforce reduction has become inevitable to achieve their goal.
Bancel didn’t disclose which roles will be affected, but revealed that Moderna’s headcount will drop below 5,000.
