What’s Happening at Microsoft?

Microsoft is reportedly preparing to eliminate more than 2% of its workforce in July 2026 — affecting staff in sales, consulting, and its Xbox gaming division.

At this time, reports are mixed about the size and scope of the tech giant’s latest restructuring. However, Xbox informed employees last month that it’s looking to conduct a major “reset.”

Impact on Canadian Staff

It remains unclear if any Canadian employees at Microsoft are affected by the latest restructuring.

According to LinkedIn, the company currently has more than 5,400 workers in the country.
