Driver of “Metal Staircase” Mazda 3 Charged in Mississauga

On Aug. 26, 2025, the driver of a grey Mazda 3 was charged after the public notified Peel police that the vehicle was travelling around Mississauga with a metal staircase covering the rear and roof.

What Happened?

• Peel police responded to reports of a vehicle travelling along the Queensway near Cawthra Road with a metal structure hanging off of it around 3:15pm ET on Aug. 26.
• According to investigators, the driver of the grey Mazda 3, a 22-year-old woman from Woodbridge, had initially backed into a building near Dixie Road — striking a metal staircase, which broke off and fastened to the vehicle.
• No injuries have been reported at this time.
