Did the Toronto Maple Leafs Fire Craig Berube?

Yes — Craig Berube’s 2-year run as the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs has come to an end after the “Blue and White” recently finished last in the NHL’s Atlantic Division.

“This was the right decision on the path ahead,” John Chayka, the team’s new general manager, told reporters on May 13, 2026.

“It was a difficult decision. It was not a verdict on Craig’s coaching. I think it stands for itself.”

Chayka added that the organization will be conducting a “wide-ranging” search for Berube’s successor.
