2 Hospitalized After Vehicle Launches Off Hwy. 427 Onto Hwy. 401

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a vehicle launched off the Highway 427 overpass onto Highway 401 near Toronto Pearson Airport on Feb. 1, 2026.

What Happened?

• The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, took place before 7pm ET on Feb. 1.
• “The vehicle [travelling southbound on Highway 427] ramped up and over the concrete barrier and upon landing, collided with a transport truck on the eastbound lanes on Highway 401 before finally landing on its roof near the Eglinton Avenue exit on the highway,” the OPP said in a news release.
• Emergency crews took 2 individuals to the hospital. Fortunately, their injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.
