On Sept. 12, 2025, a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck collided on Highway 401 near Kingston — sending 1 person to hospital in critical condition.

What Happened?
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a serious crash in the westbound lanes near Highway 15.
- A photo of the scene shows the front of the tractor-trailer pressed into the barrier separating the eastbound and westbound lanes.
- Officials didn’t disclose if the individual rushed to hospital in critical condition was the driver of the tractor-trailer or pickup truck.
- Westbound lanes of Highway 401 are closed between Highway 32 in Gananoque and Montreal Street in Kingston.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
