Motorcyclist, 27, Dead Following “Road Rage” Crash on Hwy. 11 Near Orillia

A motorcyclist has been pronounced dead following a “road rage-related incident” on Highway 11 near Orillia on Oct. 6, 2025.

What Happened?
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on the highway, north of Line 15, around 10:30pm ET on Oct. 6. Witnesses claimed that a “road rage-type altercation” took place prior to the crash.
- The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man from Toronto, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- Officials said the driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old man from Bracebridge, “exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested.”
Investigation Updates
The driver of the pickup truck has been charged with:
- Impaired driving causing death
- Dangerous driving causing death
- Obstructing a peace officer
- Failing or refusing to comply with demand causing death
