Empty Coffee Shop

BC became the latest province to introduce a $15 minimum wage, following in Ontario and Alberta’s footsteps. The final goal of $15 an hour is still many years off, as it is scheduled to hit that mark by June 2021.

On June 1st, 2018 minimum wage will move from $11.35 to $12.65 an hour.

A Vancouver employment lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP joined The Shift with Drex on 980 CKNW, where they talked about the outrage that occurred in Ontario following a minimum wage boost in that province. They also addressed the potential impact on businesses, employees and the public in B.C.
