Teen Hockey Players Hospitalized After Coach Bus Crashes North of Edmonton
What Happened?
A coach bus carrying a team of teenage hockey players lost control on Highway 2 north of Edmonton and crashed on Dec. 12, 2025 — resulting in at least 2 players being set to hospital.
According to Athabasca RCMP, the bus — reportedly transporting members of the Athabasca Rivermen — was travelling south when it suddenly entered the west ditch and plowed into several trees.
All 17 occupants of the bus sustained injuries of various severity as a result of the single-vehicle collision.
Investigation Updates
RCMP believe icy road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash.
