Fatal Tesla crash in Wellesley Township near Kitchener leaves 3 dead, 3 hurt

Three people lost their lives in a fatal Monday morning collision that occurred north of Wellesley Township near Kitchener, Ontario. The crash, which took place around 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of Hessen Strasse and Greenwood Hill Road, involved a Tesla and a Dodge Ram. Police in Waterloo Region reported that three individuals were also injured.

• The Tesla, driven by a 25-year-old man from Cambridge, collided with the Dodge Ram driven by a 28-year-old man from Perth County.
• The driver of the Tesla died at the scene.
• Two of the passengers in the Tesla, a 30-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Kitchener, also lost their lives. The male passenger died at the scene, while the female passenger was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
• A fourth passenger in the Tesla, a 23-year-old man from Kitchener, was transported to a hospital outside the region with non-life-threatening injuries.
• The 28-year-old Dodge Ram driver and his 28-year-old female passenger, both from Perth County, were also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Waterloo Regional Police are still actively investigating the cause of the crash. Roads in the area were reopened after the initial investigation, though some nearby roads remain closed to traffic. Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage to come forward to assist with the investigation.
