The driver of a Mitsubishi RVR has been pronounced dead just days after rear-ending a backhoe tractor in North York on Nov. 7, 2025.

• The incident took place on Weston Road near Fenmar Drive, north of Finch Avenue West, before 2:50am ET on Nov. 7.
• According to Toronto police, the Mitsubishi RVR was observed travelling northbound “at a high rate of speed” prior to the collision.
• The driver of the Mitsubishi RVR, a 40-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on Nov. 10.
• Officials said the operator of the backhoe tractor, a 46-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
