Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision on Highway 401 near Toronto Pearson International Airport on Jan. 1, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident took place in the eastbound collector lanes of the highway near Dixie Road around 6:10am ET on Jan. 1.
- According officials, a 32-year-old woman from Ottawa was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
- All eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401 were temporarily closed around Dixie Road.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation.
