53-Year-Old Man Dead, 2 Hurt After Head-On Crash Near Port Perry
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal head-on collision on Highway 7/12 near Port Perry — a community north of Oshawa — on March 8, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident took place on the highway near Scugog Line 4 just before 6am ET on March 8.
- According to OPP, the driver of one of the vehicles, a 53-year-old man from Sunderland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- Two other men, a 35-year-old man from North York and 32-year-old man from Innisfil, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
