Teen Dead After Toyota Sedan, GMC Truck Collide North of Pickering Golf Club

Durham police are investigating a fatal head-on collision involving a Toyota sedan and a GMC pickup truck north of Pickering Golf Club on Feb. 27, 2026.

What Happened?

• The incident took place on Brock Road, north of Taunton Road, just after 8pm ET on Feb. 27.
• According to officials, the Toyota sedan was travelling southbound on Brock Road when it lost control, entered the northbound lanes, and collided with the GMC pickup truck.
• “An 18-year-old male passenger in the Toyota was pronounced deceased on scene. A 21-year-old male passenger in the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle, and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where they remain in life-threatening condition,” Durham police said in a news release. “The 42-year-old female driver of the Toyota and a 58-year-old male passenger were transported to a local-area hospital.”
• The 56-year-old driver of the GMC pickup truck was assessed at the scene and didn’t require further medical attention.

Investigation Updates

The fatal collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
