A 43-year-old motorcyclist is dead after crashing into some trees near Perth — a township southwest of Ottawa — on April 3, 2026.

What Happened?

  • Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Upper Scotch Line in Tay Valley Township around 6:15pm ET on April 3.
  • The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man from Carleton Place, was rushed to hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.
  • A portion of Upper Scotch Line was closed for several hours.

The cause of the single-vehicle collision remains under investigation.
