Man Dead, Struck by Vehicle After “Interaction” Near Hamilton-Burlington Border

A 25-year-old man is dead following an “interaction” with a fleeing vehicle near the Hamilton-Burlington border on Feb. 16, 2026.

What Happened?

• The incident took place on York Boulevard, west of Plains Road West, before 9pm ET on Feb. 16.
• According to Hamilton Police, two vehicles pulled over following an “interaction” while travelling eastbound on York Boulevard.
• A passenger from 1 of the vehicles, a 25-year-old man, approached the other vehicle, which attempted to leave the area — striking the individual.
• Paramedics rushed the man to hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.
• The driver that struck the individual is cooperating with police.

Investigation Updates

The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation. Charges are pending.
