The driver of a pickup truck and their passenger have been pronounced dead following a collision with a farm tractor on 8 Line in Mapleton — a municipality north of Waterloo — on Oct. 3, 2025.

• The incident took place on 8 Line between Side Road 19 and Side Road 17 around 9:30pm ET on Oct. 3.
• According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the occupants of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old male and a 39-year-old female from Drayton, were pronounced dead at the scene.
• The driver of the farm tractor was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
