1 Dead, 1 Hurt After Serious Hwy. 3 Collision Southwest of Hamilton

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision involving a “passenger van” and a truck that took place near Hagersville — a community southwest of Hamilton — on Oct. 14, 2025.

What Happened?
- The incident occurred around Highway 3 and Haldimand Road 20 in the morning on Oct. 14.
- OPP Const. Patti Cote said in a video on X (formerly Twitter) that the driver of the van was taken to hospital with “undetermined injuries.”
- The passenger in the van, a 95-year-old from Lowbanks, was pronounced dead.
- No injuries were reported for the driver of the truck.

Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
