Downtown Toronto crash: Driver hits pedestrian, tree, store near Jarvis and Front

Two people were hospitalized following a collision in downtown Toronto on Tuesday afternoon, according to Toronto police. The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. near the intersection of Jarvis and Front streets.

Incident Details

Toronto police reported that the driver first struck a pedestrian before colliding with a tree and eventually crashing into a storefront. The crash resulted in the tree being knocked down and significant damage to the storefront.

Victim Information

Both the pedestrian and the driver were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

Investigation and Road Closures

  • Jarvis Street remains closed from Front to King streets as police conduct their investigation.
  • Authorities are working to determine the cause of the collision.
