What’s Happening at Conestoga College?

Conestoga College has reportedly completed its latest round of job cuts in March 2026 — affecting hundreds of full-time employees.

“It was complete devastation for almost 400 people, plus those [who] are left behind trying to figure out how to get the work done that’s still there,” Leopold Koff, president of OPSEU Local 237, told CityNews Kitchener.

According to Koff, 181 faculty members and 197 support staff have either left the Kitchener-based college or shifted to part-time work out of “desperation.”

The exact number of unionized and non-unionized roles affected by the latest workforce reduction remains unclear.
