• According to Durham police, the pedestrian, an 81-year-old man, allegedly attempted to cross the intersection against a green light — that’s when they were struck by an SUV.
• The pedestrian was initially rushed to hospital in critical condition. Their condition has since been stabilized.
• Officials said the 53-year-old driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
