City of Toronto Employee Allegedly Used Sick Days to Work Second Job
What Happened at the City of Toronto?
A complaint was submitted to Toronto’s auditor general (AG) — claiming that a municipal employee collected approximately $3,200 in sick pay while working a second job.
“[We are taking action to] reinforce a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization,” the City of Toronto said in a statement to CTV News.
“We are working with the [AG] on an action plan to prevent these issues, and have already improved mailroom tracking, oversight measures, and system access controls.”
The employee in question has reportedly resigned.
