26-year-old dead, struck by vehicle near Naughton post office
Incident details
A 26-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle near the Naughton post office.
- The Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) said in a news release that officers were “dispatched to the area of Simon Lake Road by Gorman Street in Walden” shortly after 5 a.m. ET on Jan. 13.
- “Upon arrival, paramedics from Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services and [the GSPS] began life-saving measures on the pedestrian [from Greater Sudbury]…Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced deceased on scene,” the release reads.
- The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
