AJ Roberts is a B.C. employment lawyer and Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group, serving clients across the province.
Working through the firm’s Vancouver office, AJ provides support on a broad range of employment matters, including:
- Wrongful dismissals
- Constructive dismissals
- Dismissals for cause and without cause
- Severance pay negotiations and packages
- Employee misclassification
- Workplace harassment and sexual harassment
- Discrimination at work
- Human rights issues
- Employment contract review and drafting
- Temporary layoff issues
Prior to joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP as an Associate, AJ assisted the firm as an articling student.
Outside of the office, he enjoys all things sports — especially skiing, basketball, golf, and boxing — as well as taking in Vancouver’s exciting culinary scene.
Education
AJ completed his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) at the University of British Columbia with a major in Philosophy.
In June 2024, he obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Thompson Rivers University’s Faculty of Law (TRU Law).
While at TRU Law, AJ:
- Co-founded and served as co-president of the TRU Law Mixed Martial Arts Club
- Served as an editor of the TRU Law Review
- Represented TRU Law at the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition in San Diego, California as well as the MacIntyre Cup Trial Moot Competition in Edmonton, Alberta
