Town of Cochrane cutting jobs, part of ‘organizational redesign’
What’s happening?
The Town of Cochrane, northeast of Timmins, Ontario, is scaling back its staffing levels as part of an “organizational redesign.”
“Our primary focus is to enhance our service delivery and ensure that we are in the best position to serve the community,” Monika Malherbe, the town’s chief administrative officer, said in a recent news release.
“While this transition is difficult, it reflects our commitment to ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with the town’s evolving needs.”
The exact number of unionized and non-unionized positions affected by the restructuring wasn’t disclosed.
