Single-vehicle crash on County Road 8 claims life of 19-year-old driver
Incident details
A tragic single-vehicle accident occurred early Sunday morning on County Road 8, a few kilometers east of Highway 15, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old driver. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leeds County detachment responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch shortly after 3 a.m.

Victim information
The driver, a resident of Mallorytown, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Brockville, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the OPP, who are being assisted by crash investigation experts, the Chief Coroner’s office, and the Office of Forensic Pathology. As part of the investigation, County Road 8 was closed between Harlem Road and Hughs Road and will remain so until the on-scene investigation is completed.
