Show Notes
- Signed multiple contracts and eventually let go: Individuals with more than three contracts are considered employees. Fixed-term contracts are meaningless if an employee has had to sign contracts for years. Employees in this situation will be owed severance pay if their contract is not renewed.
- Etiquette in an employment interview: Generally an employer should limit questions and ensure that everything discussed is relevant to the job. Employees should be wary of questions that touch on human rights grounds, such as age, religion, etc.
- Fired due to unreasonable issue with an employer: Employers are within their rights to terminate employees for any reason, as long as it is not discriminatory and severance pay is offered. Terminations for cause are more difficult to prove and employees often have been wrongfully dismissed.
