A Vancouver employment lawyer and Grant’s representation at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP spoke with the Vancouver Sun and states that the lawsuit has been served on the defendants, but no response has yet been filed.

A later response from the store management implies that Grant did not give away valueless goods and exhibited serious misconduct. The lawyer reiterated this was not the case.

“Justin always acted with the knowledge of the store management, including the owner Mr. Liston. Justin was not told prior to his termination that the charitable practices were unacceptable,” the lawyer explained in a statement made to the Vancouver Sun.
