Episode Notes
- I was told by the insurer that my psychologist supported my return to work. My insurance company after I requested the file, told me they’d sent me everything. I don’t know if this is true. What are my options?
- I have a treating psychotherapist but she didn’t want to produce a file to send over to the insurer. Does she have to provide the full file or would a report be sufficient?
- I am off work due to chronic anxiety and depression. If I relapse while trying a new contract position will my benefits continue?
- My cousin was diagnosed with cancer and is on short-term disability. Is it easy to transition to LTD?
- I’ve seen many doctors and have had many tests, but they still don’t know what is causing my seizures. My doctors don’t want me to go back to work until we’ve figured this out. When I reached out to the disability insurance company for more benefits, I was told my transition claim to long-term was denied. Does this make sense?
- If you are approved for short-term disability benefits does that mean you will automatically get long-term disability benefits as well?
- My insurance company wants me to fill out an education, training and experience form 4 months into my LTD claim. Should I be filling out this form so early into my LTD claim?
- Can getting a COVID-19 vaccine affect someone’s disability claim?
- I got STD benefits, but my LTD benefits were declined. By the time I got back to work, my company had switched insurance companies. The letter I got from this insurance company said my LTD claim was not covered because my disability was pre-existing and “directly or indirectly” related to my prior health issues. What should I do?
