City Investigates After Video of Employee Lashing Out at Parking Officer
The City of Toronto is investigating after one of its workers filmed himself hurling expletives at police officers while being ticketed for parking in an accessibility spot in a North York plaza.
Video of the incident, posted to the website VidMe in August by the Solid Waste Management Services employee himself, captures a tirade that lasts around 10 minutes against officers in the Don Valley Parkway and Lawrence Avenue East area.
“Let me show you my City of Toronto uniform,” the worker is heard yelling in the video. “Do you feel dumb? You thought I was just a regular f–king n–ger, eh?”
Expect to be fired if you behave like this City of Toronto employee, suggest employment lawyer Lior Samfiru, partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP. He spoke to Global News Radio 640 Toronto’s Kelly Cutrara about how this unionized worker’s actions may end up costing him his job.
