Toronto Road Tolls and the Impact on Employees
Toronto Mayor John Tory has announced plans to introduce road tolls for the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway, key highways that carry thousands of commuters in and out of Canada’s largest city.
Tory used the example of a $2 per vehicle toll, which could raise $200 million a year for city coffers, and noted that 40 per cent of drivers who travel the DVP and Gardiner come from outside the city.
What does this news mean for out-of-town employees who will have to endure extra costs to commute to their workplace in Toronto?
