ServiceNow Layoffs 2026: Severance Pay in Canada
ServiceNow confirmed another round of global layoffs on November 5, 2026, following reports of job cuts beginning November 4. Employees in the U.S., U.K. and India have been affected, with cuts reportedly reaching customer success, marketing and other teams.
The enterprise software company hasn’t disclosed how many employees are losing their jobs or confirmed a Canadian layoff count. The latest cuts follow several rounds of restructuring as ServiceNow invests in artificial intelligence and changes how it operates.
Laid off by ServiceNow? Your first severance offer isn’t necessarily everything you’re owed. Non-unionized employees in Ontario, Alberta and BC can receive up to 24 months’ compensation.

Latest ServiceNow Layoffs And Restructuring
ServiceNow has been reducing positions throughout 2026 while hiring for AI-focused roles.
- November 4–5, 2026: A new round of layoffs affected employees in the U.S., U.K. and India. ServiceNow confirmed organizational changes but didn’t provide a job-cut total.
- October 2026: ServiceNow disclosed US$87 million in employee severance and related costs for the third quarter, bringing its total for the first nine months of 2026 to US$167 million.
- July 2026: ServiceNow confirmed further global job cuts following earlier layoffs. Hundreds of positions were reportedly affected during the company’s restructuring.
- June 2026: Reports emerged that ServiceNow was eliminating hundreds of jobs while shifting resources toward AI-related skills.
The latest cuts were reported by CTech on November 6. ServiceNow also described its workforce restructuring in its third-quarter financial filing.
ServiceNow is working to keep its overall headcount close to where it started 2026, even as it eliminates positions in some departments and hires for different skills.
That doesn’t change what employees are owed when their jobs are eliminated.
How Much Severance Does ServiceNow Pay In Canada?
Non-unionized ServiceNow employees terminated without cause in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia can receive up to 24 months’ compensation.
What you’re owed is based on your age, years of service, position, compensation and employment contract—not simply ServiceNow’s standard severance formula.
For software engineers, sales professionals, customer success managers and senior employees, severance can represent a substantial amount of money.

What Happens To Your ServiceNow RSUs, Bonuses And Commissions?
Your salary isn’t the only compensation that matters. Many technology employees receive bonuses, sales commissions, restricted stock units (RSUs) and other incentives.
Before accepting a severance package, review:
- RSUs and stock options: What happens to outstanding awards and upcoming vesting dates?
- Bonuses: Are outstanding and expected performance payments included?
- Sales commissions: What happens to earned commissions, pending deals and incentive payments?
- Benefits: How long will health coverage and other employment benefits continue?
Lost bonuses, commissions and equity compensation can form part of a severance claim following termination without cause.
Don’t judge your ServiceNow severance package by salary alone.
Does ServiceNow Have To Pay Severance If AI Replaces Your Job?
Yes. Replacing employees with AI or restructuring departments doesn’t eliminate an employer’s severance obligations.
If ServiceNow eliminates your position and terminates your employment without cause, you’re owed proper severance.
The company can change its business strategy, automate work and hire employees with different skills. It still has to respect the rights of employees whose jobs are eliminated.
What If ServiceNow Changes Your Role Instead Of Laying You Off?
Not every restructuring ends with a termination letter.
If ServiceNow significantly reduces your compensation, removes major responsibilities, demotes you or makes substantial changes to your position, you don’t automatically have to accept those changes.
They can amount to constructive dismissal, allowing you to pursue severance.
Don’t resign or agree to major changes before understanding your rights.
What Should ServiceNow Employees Do Before Signing?
- Get the full offer. Keep your termination letter, employment agreement and compensation documents.
- Check your total compensation. Include bonuses, commissions, stock awards and benefits—not just salary.
- Have your package reviewed. Understand what you’re owed before signing away your rights.
⚠️ A Signing Deadline Doesn’t End Your Rights. ServiceNow might give you a deadline to accept its offer, but that isn’t your legal deadline to pursue severance. Signing a binding release typically prevents you from seeking more. Before you sign, always check first.
Having your severance reviewed doesn’t mean taking ServiceNow to court. We resolve the vast majority of severance disputes through negotiation.
