Experience
Hunter Evans is an Alberta employment lawyer and Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group.
Working through the firm’s Calgary office, he assists employees and employers on a broad range of employment law matters, including:
- Wrongful dismissals
- Terminations for cause and without cause in Alberta
- Constructive dismissals
- Severance pay
- Workplace harassment
- Discrimination at work
- Human rights violations
- Employment contracts and policies
- Employee misclassification
- Temporary layoffs in Alberta
Prior to joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, Hunter worked at a law firm with a specialization in civil litigation, including employment law. He’s successfully represented clients before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Justice.
Hunter’s approach is calm, but directed. His knowledge of employment law, and the litigation process as a whole, allows him to outline the “big picture” to his clients — encouraging equitable and cost-effective solutions.
Outside of the office, Hunter enjoys spending time with his family, all things automotive, staying active with his two border collies, and tending to his many plants.
Education
Hunter obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Thompson Rivers University. Prior to law school, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Lethbridge.
