What’s Happening at Spotify?

Spotify has reportedly reduced its podcasting division by approximately 3% — mostly affecting workers at Spotify Studios and The Ringer.

“[We don’t] comment on staffing shifts,” a spokesperson for the digital music streaming platform told Variety in a statement.

Sources claim the workforce reduction is aimed at helping Spotify improve execution, speed, and alignment across teams.

Impact on Canadian Staff

It remains unclear if any Canadian employees in Spotify’s podcasting division are affected.

According to LinkedIn, the company has more than 300 workers across the country.
