What’s Happening at Cineplex?
Cineplex announced that it will close its 6-screen theatre in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood on Feb. 17, 2026.
The cinema, located at 1651 Queen Street East, opened in 1999 under the Alliance Atlantis brand. In 2019, it was acquired by Cineplex.
“The landlord has chosen to lease the space to another business,” the Canadian movie theatre chain said in a statement to blogTO.
“We have loved being members of this wonderful neighbourhood for the past 20 years. We are grateful to the Beaches community for their support and look forward to welcoming familiar faces to our nearby [locations].”
