During a recent interview, Lance Bass — a member of beloved boy band N’Sync — discussed his diabetes diagnosis and a potential N’Sync reunion.

Bass has Type 1.5 diabetes, which is also known as latent autoimmune diabetes (LAD).

“[New diabetes monitoring technology] makes it so much easier to deal with,” he told CNN.

“That and [speaking with members of the diabetic community], it’s been incredible because with the support that you give each other.”

Regarding a potential reunion with his former band mates, including Justin Timberlake, Bass said he doesn’t have any “breaking news” for N’Sync fans.

Disability Benefits for Diabetes in Canada

Diabetes can have a profound impact on an individual’s ability to perform their job duties — even with appropriate treatment.

For Canadians who can’t work due to this debilitating condition, short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) benefits can provide a crucial financial lifeline.

How These Benefits Help

  • STD: Provides temporary financial support for individuals unable to perform their job duties.
  • LTD: Offers income replacement for individuals unable to return to work for an extended period of time.

To qualify for STD or LTD benefits, medical documentation is essential to demonstrate how your condition prevents you from working.

Sadly, insurance companies often deny legitimate LTD claims — including in cases involving diabetes — adding unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation.
