What does a month to month approval for LTD mean?

I was approved for ltd affective July 2015 due to depression. My doctor supplied very detailed information. Recently I was told that I was approved on a month to month basis and that I would have to meet with an adjuster.

Can I refuse to attend an independent medical assessment from my insurer?

07:30 – My insurance company cut me off from my benefit payments three months ago. I wrote them a letter and they reinstated but have asked me if I can have an independent medical assessment done with them. Can I refuse?

Should I see a different doctor if my insurance company is requesting I do so?

13:30 – Being sent to an independent assessment from an insurance company is within the rights of most insurance policies, but the examiner is often rushed. Being forced to see a different medical practitioner by your insurance company is not acceptable.
