Experience
Madeeha Hashmi is an employment lawyer in Ontario with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment practice group, working through the firm’s Ottawa and Toronto locations.
She has extensive experience advising employees and employers on a broad range of workplace matters, including:
- Severance package negotiations
- Wrongful dismissals
- Constructive dismissals
- Employment contracts
- Human rights concerns
Prior to joining the firm in February 2023, Madeeha articled and practised in the employment law group of a national law firm. She also worked as an associate at a boutique employment law firm in Toronto.
Outside of the office, Madeeha enjoys creative writing, portrait photography, and baking.
Education
Madeeha obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.
Prior to law school, she received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University.
