Pickup truck driver hurt after foggy 3-vehicle crash outside of Woodstock
Incident details
The driver of a pickup truck is recovering in hospital after a serious three-vehicle crash northwest of Woodstock.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the incident, which also involved a transport truck and a fuel tanker, took place at Road 84 and 37th Line around 8:30 a.m. ET on Dec. 16.
- OPP Const. Randi Crawford told CTV News that the driver of the pickup truck was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, their condition has improved.
- “[Investigators will] look at speed of the vehicles, direction of the vehicles, [and] they’ll look at the debris that’s on the ground to see if that can give them some clue as to what happened here,” Crawford said.
- Officials noted that visibility was low at the time of the crash due to heavy fog in the area.
- 37th Line was temporarily closed at Road 88 and Wallace Street. Road 84 was temporarily closed between 41st Line and 37th Line.
Investigation updates
The cause of the three-vehicle collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
