Tractor-trailer driver charged after fiery Hwy. 402 crash in Sarnia

Incident details
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges following a fiery collision involving two tractor-trailers on Highway 402 in Sarnia.
- The incident took place in the westbound lanes of the highway between Indian Road and Christina Street around 3 a.m. ET on March 26.
- OPP said one of the tractor-trailers became fully engulfed in flames following the collision.
- Two people were taken to hospital. Officials said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the injuries sustained by the individuals aren’t life-threatening.
- Westbound lanes of Highway 402 between Indian Road and Christina Street were closed for several hours.

Investigation updates
OPP said in a news release that a 26-year-old from Brampton has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving causing bodily harm.
The accused is scheduled to make a court appearance on June 5.
