Tim Hortons Expanding Canadian Footprint Amid Dunkin’ Donuts Return
Is Tim Hortons Expanding in Canada?
Yes — Tim Hortons announced on May 22, 2026 that it plans to open approximately 80 new stores across Canada, with around 26 of the locations to be built in Ontario.
“Tim Hortons was built in Canada by Canadians, and we are proud to continue investing in Canada to give our guests beautiful, modern restaurants to enjoy,” Axel Schwan, president of the restaurant chain, said in a news release.
“These are Canadian families investing their own money in their own communities [to build new stores and renovate hundreds of existing locations] — and that’s something we’re proud of.”
The bombshell update comes less than a month after Dunkin’ Donuts unveiled its plans to return to the Canadian market.
