If you saw an allegedly ill co-worker posting photos on social media, showing them on vacation or out and about having fun, would you inform your boss? Have you ever had a co-worker tattle on you, or have you done some tattling yourself?

Can an employee legally be terminated from their job if a co-worker shares information from social media with their employer?

CBC Radio’s workplace expert Rubina Ahmed-Haq has advice on what to do if you’re the victim, and when it’s okay to name some names. She spoke to Toronto Employment Lawyer Chantel Goldsmith, Partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, about employer and employee rights regarding the workplace and social media.
