Separate London motorcycle crashes result in one dead, another injured

On Friday night, two separate motorcycle crashes occurred within hours of each other in London, Ontario, resulting in one fatality and another motorcyclist being hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

• The first incident took place around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Highbury Avenue and Dingman Drive. Emergency crews responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics.
• Later that evening, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a second crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle occurred in the area of Southdale Road West and Byronhills Drive. The motorcyclist in this incident was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the rider later succumbed to those injuries.

Victim information

The first motorcyclist remains in the hospital in critical condition, while the second motorcyclist was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

Investigation

London Police’s Traffic Management Unit is actively investigating both crashes to determine the causes. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to each collision.
