Robinhood Completes $250M Acquisition of Toronto’s WonderFi: Employee Rights
Did Robinhood Acquire WonderFi?
Yes — On June 1, 2026, Robinhood completed its $250-million acquisition of WonderFi, a Toronto-based cryptocurrency company.
“WonderFi has extensive experience operating regulated crypto platforms that serve beginner and advanced crypto users alike, making it an ideal partner to accelerate [our] mission in Canada,” the US-based stock trading platform said in a news release.
“We’re pleased to have closed our acquisition and look forward to delivering innovative, user-centric investing products to Canadian customers.”
As WonderFi staff join the more than 240 Robinhood employees in Canada, it’s unclear if the company plans to reduce its Canadian workforce in the near future.
