OPP searching for driver who fled Hwy. 407 collision in Brampton
Incident details
The search is on for a driver that fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 407 in Brampton.
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the incident took place in the eastbound lanes of the highway around 8 a.m. ET on Dec. 16.
- “[A male] took off from the scene—heading north somewhere in the grassy area or industrial area between Bramalea Road and Airport Road on the north side of the 407,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter).
- Peel Regional Police and the K-9 Unit are working to track the suspect down. He was last seen wearing a two-tone black and tan jacket, tan work boots, and carrying a backpack.
- No physical injuries have been reported following the collision at this time.
