OPP officer, driver taken to hospital after Hwy. 89 crash in Alliston

An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer and the driver of a passenger vehicle have been taken to hospital following a collision in Alliston.
The incident took place in the morning on Dec. 7 at the intersection of Highway 89 and County Road 10.
- Officials said an OPP cruiser was on its way to a call with its lights and sirens activated as it approached the intersection from Highway 89.
- A passenger vehicle entered the intersection from County Road 10—colliding with the OPP cruiser.
- The OPP officer operating the cruiser and the driver of the passenger vehicle were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
- The intersection was closed for several hours.
Investigation updates
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
