Ontario announced on June 24, 2026 that it plans to increase the speed limit on approximately 89% of provincial highways to 110 km/hour by the end of September.

“Starting June 26, [we’ll] begin increasing the speed limit to 110 km/hour on sections of Highways 401 and 416 in eastern Ontario, followed by sections on other highways,” the province said in a news release.
