Motorcyclist dies in Hwy. 401 crash at 418 on-ramp near Courtice

A motorcyclist tragically died following a crash on Highway 401 near Courtice, Ontario. The incident occurred on the on-ramp from Highway 401 to Highway 418 shortly before 4 p.m. Emergency crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

According to police, the motorcycle left the highway and crashed into a ditch for reasons that remain unclear.

Victim information

The motorcyclist, an 82-year-old man from Mississauga, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, say OPP.

Investigation

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Authorities have closed the on-ramp to Highway 418 as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
