OPP: Man struck by vehicle in Hawkesbury wanted on several charges
Incident details
A 24-year-old man struck by a vehicle in Hawkesbury, east of Ottawa, was reportedly wanted on several outstanding charges.
The incident happened on Front Road around 8:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 4.
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the pedestrian, wearing all-black clothing, was walking in the middle of the road when he was struck.
- Police noted that the area was experiencing substantial snowfall at the time of the crash.
- The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
- Officers discovered that he was wanted on several charges while verifying his identification (ID).
Investigation updates
OPP arrested and charged the 24-year-old man with multiple offences. He’s expected to appear in court on Dec. 5.
It’s unclear if charges will be laid against the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian.
