1 Dead, 15 Hospitalized After Major Hwy. 401 Collision in Cambridge
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Puslinch Golf Club in Cambridge on July 11, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident — involving 9 vehicles — took place in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Townline Road around 12:30pm ET on July 11.
- According to OPP, 16 people were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, 1 of the injured individuals, a 44-year-old man from Kitchener, was later pronounced dead.
- All eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were temporarily closed near Townline Road.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal multi-vehicle collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
